Going away over Easter meant that I couldn't shoot over the two weeks. Luckily I managed to book the studio for after, meaning I had a long time to prepare. I had to use the two weeks away to my advantage and I did this by getting a majority of my blog up to date and sorting out other units. I also wrote a structured time plan of how I am going to do everything and feel slightly better (but a little bit panicked) now I've seen it all written down.
So I have three shoots left, both editorial looks and my second catwalk one. I have the studio booked 5-10pm and will shoot my catwalk look first. My second model is then coming in afterwards where I will do my editorial shoots. I am aiming for a double page spread so will need a variety of different images and this will be my mechanical theme.
I will have a double page spread on the mechanical themed background, and a double page spread on the styling of the mechanical theme, including a mechanical outfit and makeup. I am hoping that this will be the final time I need to shoot before the deadline as there is not long left and trying to get a studio seems to be getting harder. This also allows me to edit them in enough time.
I have finally finished my mechanical background after using many spray cans! Because the mechanical objects are too heavy to glue to the board, I will have my model lay down on the white section. I have placed the objects in a random order but I quite like the placement of them. I will take them off when transporting to the studio and relay them back again when shooting.
Step 1: The practice
My lovely mother trying out the background. But I notice that her head sticks out too much away from the board, meaning that it obviously looks like she is laying on it as opposed to her blending into it.
Step 2: The drawing
I then drew around her head so I could figure out where the placement of my model would be.
Step 3: The cutting
I then placed my mum in it again after I had cut the board out. I made the board higher to her face by putting catalogues underneath.
Step 4: A touch of Ellis
I couldn't visualise it fully without making it in the style of Ellis Faas. Sorry mum but your fringe is going over your eyes! I could now see how it would roughly look. My model looks more flatter to the board now it is higher which I think looks much better than having her just laying on it. My model is obviously a different size and shape to my mum so I will bring some scissors to do more cutting around her before shooting.
