From the tawny peach of a freckle to the pure, vivid red that pulses through our veins. The Ellis Faas Human Colours collection looks to the human palette for inspiration. Based on this universal spectrum, it compliments all skin tones. What better way to highlight a great feature or mask an imperfection than with tones and hues that already exist in each of us?
Ellis Red
The lip-shade Ellis Red is Ellis' signature colour and one that explains the Human Colours concept best: it is based on the natural colour of blood. The colour of blood is the same in all of us, so therefore it doesn't clash with anyone's skin. Ellis Red comes in three Ellis Lips textures: Creamy Lips (which feels the most like a traditional lipstick), Milky Lips (for those who do not like the feel of a lipstick - it is a lighter texture) and Glazed Lips (a non-sticky gloss, with a higher pigment load than regular glosses).

I had a play around with my ben nye burn and bruise wheels as I feel this perfectly represents the idea of human undertones. These are the peachy colours as opposed to the more greens, blues and purples you would find in a bruise. By playing around and testing these colours, it has given me an understanding as to what types of colours that Ellis uses and what kind of style her brand is.
These are the more bruise colours on my ben nye wheel. They vary from bright yellow to deep purple. I will be using some of these colours in my ideas and shoots as Ellis' brand is purely based on this idea.
I also experimented on the ColourLovers website, where you can create your own colour palette. Below I have created a few initial palettes in order for me to experiment and get used to playing around with these colours and to see what works well with each other.
My own palettes I created from ColourLovers website.
